Times are gone where a revenue report and a monthly P&L were sufficient to measure and optimise the profitability and success of a hotel. What gets measured, gets done!
Development of management information systems for departments or for the total hotel which includes:
- Revpar- and revenue development with segmentation, benchmarking, rolling 12 month performance, F&B efficiency, conference department and minor operating departments.
- Development of a quality index based on mystery guest visits and detailed quality controls.
- Measurement of staff motivation based on anonymous employee surveys.
- Measurement of cost efficiency and benchmarking in individual cost centers.
- Measurement system for staff efficiency based on hours worked, cost per hour, turnover per hour. Breakdown by department.
- Combined performance index (CPI) provides the total picture and the development of the operating performance.
Systems are developed at low cost, are implemented and made available periodically. (Weekly, monthly, quarterly). It is recommended to have the independent profotels team evaluate, comment and coach the implementation.
Clear, uniform and consistent reporting with periodic comparisons, benchmarking and graphical presentation provides the optimal basis for decision making.
